Paparazzi -- Restaurant Review

After reading some excellent review for this restaurant, I decided to pick this place for my friend's treat. The restaurant is on the 10th floor of "The Central Park"(near MG road)

We had already made and advanced booking, and we reached the restaurant at around 8:30 pm. From our tables, we had a splendid view of the city. The sophisticated ambiance adds to the effect, and the first impression was pretty good. The place seemed perfect for couples, and infact there were few seated in the dim lit corner areas... :)

We ordered paneer and mushroom starters for veg, and some chicken starters for the non-veg. We also ordered a couple of beers along with the food. The starters were really good with just right mix of spices. The staff was very courteous and presentation was elegant. So far so good !!

For the main course we decided to try out food options other than indian. For the vegetarians we ordered a couple of italian dishes, and for the non-vegetarian sizzlers. But here we were quite disappointed. As lot of people had come in by now, so the service also became a little sloppy, and we had to wait for good amount of time for the food to come. When it came, it was quite disappointing in the quantity and taste. For myself I have never had a pasta with Walnuts, and my non-veg friends were unable to finish off their sizzlers. Having tasted the starters, we all felt that we should have stuck to Indian menu for the main course as well !!

Anyways, we went over to deserts, and to compensate for food, the deserts turned out to be good, particularly the gajar ka halwa and gulabjamun sundae.

It was time for the bill. I had read the reviews, and most of them mentioned it to be around 700 per head, but since we had quite a lavish dinner......so I did expect some offshoot. But even then, when the bill came, it was shockingly high. With drinks (around 7-8 bottles of beer) it cost us around 7500 for 6 people.

Overall, I would prefer Ebony (thirteenth floor MG road) over Paparazzi any day. The food is too expensive to be worth the spend. And if you plan to go, definitely avoid drinks unless u are sponsered ;)
